In recent months, I've started to think that many applications use a relational database when they really don't need one. I was glad to hear that I'm not the only person thinking that way. If you are working on a new project, be sure to shop around before you settle in on a relational database. You might be surprised at how diverse and mature the data persistence arena is.
Web Platform Installer Released
Microsoft has shipped the final 1.0 release of their Web Platform Installer tool. This tool is designed to get you up and running quickly for web application development on Windows. It supports many .NET projects, but it also supports PHP.
New NCover Beta
A new version of NCover is available. The big thing that caught my eye in this version is "Fully implemented CC.NET Support". We've been using NCover sort-of ad-hoc with our CC.NET build for a while now, so I'm glad to see that there's a better way to do it now.
Further Proof that PHP << .NET
Ok, so maybe it isn't proof, but it is further evidence that .NET is the superior platform. 🙂
